paige’s formal pictures

2010

Below are all the formal pictures Matt took of Paige charting her growth and development during her first year.  As Paige grew and developed a personality and physical attributes like being able to sit up and walk, we wanted each successive set to be a reflection of that developmental stage.  At 3 Months Matt used his 35 mm Nikon FM2n to take black and whites and try and capture the fact that Paige was just beginning to become physically more active.  At 6 Months we wanted to show her smiling and sitting up as those were the major developmental attributes of that time period.  Matt also photoshopped the digital versions of the negatives to have more “color” or personality without going technicolor so to speak.  At 9 Months Matt switched to the digital SLR, Nikon D60 almost out of necessity as Paige was getting really hard to sit still long enough for a posed picture.  Her serious “side” really started showing around that time and other personality traits so we moved into sitting poses and added more color.  We stuck with the Nikon D60 for 12 Months and of course we wanted these to be more full of color.  We captured a range of Paige’s personality quirks and had her sit outside to really demonstrate that she’s now engaging the world about her in an active and curious manner.  Feel free to download these and print.  We hope you enjoy them.
